Contemplative Prayer is a form of Christian meditation that emphasizes inner silence, stillness and awareness of God's presence. It involves slowing down, quieting one’s mind, and focusing on God or a specific aspect of the divine nature to experience communion with the Holy Spirit.
Contemplative Prayer is not about trying to attain some special state or feeling but rather about entering into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through silent listening and loving union. It involves letting go of thoughts, emotions, and distractions in order to be fully present to God's presence within us.
The goal of Contemplative Prayer is not so much the experience itself but rather the deepening of our relationship with God over time. Through this form of prayer, we can grow in love, compassion, and self-knowledge as we open ourselves more fully to the indwelling presence of Christ within us.
